Bus Shelter Installation

GW Shelter Solutions’ shelters are installed across the UK from our depot based just north of Portsmouth. Using our experienced sub contract fixing teams, based in Hampshire and Nottinghamshire, we are able to offer bus shelter installation for any site, irrespective of its location.

Our fixing crews are overseen by the Managers who are all qualified to Supervisor level of the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991.

The bus shelter installation crews all have at least one member qualified to Operative level of the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991. This provides qualification to undertake the following:

  • Excavation in the road / highway
  • Excavation, back-filling and reinstatement – construction layers
  • Reinstatement – hot and cold lay bituminous materials
  • Reinstatement of concrete slabs
  • Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways

We operate 7.5t or 12 tonne flatbed lorries with a front mounted HIAB crane and all the crews have been trained to install the shelters safely and with customer care paramount.

Risk assessment and method statements (RAMS)

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM Regulations) are intended to ensure that health and safety issues are properly considered during a project’s development so that the risk of harm to those who build, use and maintain structures is reduced.

Generic RAMS documents can be produced prior to any bus shelter installation and depending on the site conditions and the type of project that’s being undertaken, more specific RAMS can be produced on request.

All Site Operatives hold CSCS cards.
