COLOUR OPTIONS
Our shelters are available in twelve standard colours of polyester powder coat. Other RAL colours and paint finishes are available on request. The colours depicted below are for guidance only, the displayed colour will depend on your screen or monitor so may not be completely accurate.

MATERIALS
At GW Shelter Solutions we use a core range of materials to manufacture our shelters, canopies and street furniture.

MILD STEEL
The majority of our shelters have mild steel frames or gantries. Mild steel is extremely strong and durable, it can be easily formed and fabricated and is available in a wide variety of forms and sections. For all of our structures we use structural steel, and vary the grade depending on the application required. We typically use grades S235, S275 and S355.

Mild steel can be finished in the following way:

Rich zinc epoxy polyester primer. (Our standard protective coating). Powder coating primer containing zinc which is designed to give enhanced corrosion protection from harsh environments, providing a smooth base for the powder coating.

Polyester powder coating. This is a painting process designed for external use and provides a high quality, durable finish that is UV stable and has excellent abrasion resistant properties. The powder is sprayed onto the steelwork prior to being cured by heating the powder coated products up to 200degrees.

Other pre-treatments can be provided upon request.

STAINLESS STEEL
Stainless Steel can be supplied depending on requirement.

ALUMINIUM
Aluminium is predominantly used for our glazing systems and also for roof components. Aluminium is a low weight, high strength material with excellent corrosion resistance properties and is easy to machine. Extruded aluminium components can designed with many features built in. Some of our roof components have integrated gutters, channels for fixings and also compartments for running cables.
Aluminium is finished by powder coating:

Polyester powder coating. This is a painting process designed for external use and provides a high quality, durable finish that is UV stable and has excellent abrasion resistant properties. The powder is sprayed onto the aluminium prior to being cured by heating the powder coated products up to 200degrees.

GLASS
Toughened glass is used for the side glazing on our shelters for maximum light transmission and a high level of clarity. Other than its impact resistance glass has some excellent properties, it is hard, easy to clean and maintain and has excellent chemical resistance. It also remains optically clear.

POLYCARBONATE
Polycarbonate is used for the roof glazing and also side glazing on our shelters. It has excellent light transmission, can be formed and has high impact resistance making it the ideal material for shelters that can be prone to vandalism. It does have a lower scratch resistance than glass. Polycarbonate is available in clear and bronze.

GRP
Glass reinforced plastic is used for our seat pads and also some of our roof structures. It is a lightweight material with an excellent strength to weight ratio and good thermal insulation properties. GRP can be coloured to match any RAL paint reference.
