INSTALLATION

GW Shelter Solutions’ shelters are installed across the UK from our depot based just north of Southsea. Using our experienced sub contract fixing teams, based in Hampshire and Nottinghamshire, we are able to offer bus shelter installation for any site, irrespective of its location.

Bus shelter installation

Every location is surveyed prior to installation to establish site conditions, specific traffic management and the most appropriate positioning of the shelter. We discuss the survey report with our customers prior to any work being undertaken.

Benefits of our installation services

Our bus shelter installations are quick and efficient, serving communities across the UK. With our experience and expertise, we ensure each project meets the highest standards.

We ensure that our work causes minimal disruption to local communities, commuters and passers-by during installation. All of our installations are fully compliant with the New Roads and Streetworks Act and CDM regulations to ensure Health and Safety is adhered to at all times.

Safety information

Our fixing crews are overseen by staff who are all accredited to Supervisor level of the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991.

The bus shelter installation crews all have at least one member qualified to Operative level of the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991. This provides qualification to undertake the following:

  • Excavation in the road / highway
  • Excavation, back-filling and reinstatement – construction layers
  • Reinstatement – hot and cold lay bituminous materials
  • Reinstatement of concrete slabs
  • Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways

For work on contractor’s sites or projects, our operatives hold CSCS accreditation.

Specific RAMS documents are produced prior to any bus shelter installation ensuring that all Health and Safety issues are properly considered during a project’s development so that the risk of harm to everyone is reduced.

“Our Council took a long time to find a supplier that could provide a good quality shelter, and we are delighted to work with GW Shelters.  Since 2021 they have installed seven bus shelters and supplied us with spare panels to fit our existing shelters.  Although we are based in Northumberland physical distance has been no problem for site visits.  Our experience has been that GW Shelters provides the right product, a seamless installation and a good after sales service.”

“Once again, GW Shelter Solutions design, supply and install another Bus Shelter for Fenland District Council within agreed timescales and budget. Our go to company, especially when requiring glazing and maintenance parts for our older assets which still remain structurally sound and in use today; many of which have had a good coat of paint, a re-glazing to accordingly to local environment resulting in GW Shelter Solutions providing a new looking shelter with a significant reduction in cost when compared to a new installation. I cannot recommend them enough.”

“We have worked with GW Shelter solutions for many years they have always provided a good quality product which has withstood the test of time. The choice of specification provides shelters to suit any location and environment. Glen is easy to deal with from design to installation, offering advice and assistance with any issues that may arise, keeping us updated on projects, meeting agreed timescales and flexible to changes when requested.”

“Glen has always been incredibly helpful and will travel to Swansea for site surveys, to ensure the most appropriate product is ordered and installed.  The ordering process is quick and easy and shelters are always installed within set timescales – sometimes even before! I wish to extend our thanks to Glen and all the team at GW Shelters and hope our working relationship continues for many years to come!”
