Prior to any ground works commencing we will scan the area using a cable avoidance tool to establish if there are any underground services present. Where services are isolated, the ground is always carefully excavated by hand to expose them fully.
Shelter foundation work generally involves saw cutting through the reinstatement, excavating the ground to dimensions stated in the foundation plans, concreting the shelter legs into the pockets and reinstating to match the existing footpath.
We can also complete other ground work which may include:
- Fully paved hard stands
- Building retaining walls
- Build-outs where existing land may fall away
- Making good smaller areas following road traffic accidents or shelter removals
In addition to the smaller shelter foundations, we are experienced in the installation of larger foundation work associated with longer shelters or walkways which may mean working in conjunction and co-ordinating with main contractors or other contractors.
Our experience of installing shelters over the last 25 years has enabled us to become flexible in our approach to installation and ensure minimal disruption on site whilst maintaining the highest quality of installation and reinstatement
