BUS SHELTERS
Bus shelters need to be durable, well-designed, and aesthetically pleasing in order to best serve the areas they stand in. Therefore, it is vital that customers choose an experienced supplier that can provide a product of excellent quality that meets their specifications.
With over 40 years of experience in the industry, GW Shelter Solutions can do just that.

What makes a good bus shelter?
High-quality construction
At GW Shelter Solutions we use a mild steel framework, and an extruded aluminium glazing system, to ensure maximum strength and durability for our shelters. This ensures that the product has longevity, giving our customers excellent value for money.
Low maintenance
As passengers will use bus shelters on a daily basis, they are subject to everyday wear and tear. Shelters should be regularly cleaned to optimise the lifespan. We use a secure glazing system, minimising damage from vandalism and therefore prolonging its longevity.
Clear purpose
Every bus shelter’s main priority is to provide a good level of weather protection for passengers waiting for the next bus. However, bus stops in different locations will require tailored approaches, ensuring that the size, style, and features of the product match its location.
GW Shelter Solution’s number one priority is providing our customers with a bus shelter that matches their brief. Whether you need a simple and traditional shelter for a village setting, or a larger and more modern design for a city centre, we can come up with an answer that meets your needs.
Our range of bus shelters
The Arun Bus Shelter range is a classic and modular shelter, selling for over 25 years and can be supplied with a barrel, pitched or flat roof. Each option can be tailored to fit the needs and criteria of your enquiry.
We understand that the shelter you need depends on many different factors, so we have several customisable options for you to choose from. If you require a bespoke bus shelter, we can help build the product you envision.

Here’s what our customers think…
The journey from enquiry to bus shelter
When you partner with GW Shelter Solutions to install a new bus shelter, this is how the process typically plays out:
- Initial enquiry – We speak with you to work out exactly what product you would need, including any additional requirements.
- Site visit – Next, we will likely conduct a site survey to establish the best way to complete the works on site. This is not always required however.
- Quotation stage – Once all the details have been determined we will provide you with a quotation for the job, including the product, installation, and any foreseeable extras.
- 8 week lead time – Once we have received your instruction, we will process the order with an average lead time of 8 weeks.
- Installation – Finally, we will install your product at the site. This takes around 4-6 hours on average but will depend on the scale and complexity of the project.
Important considerations
Our expert team will advise on the best way to install the shelter before fitting it. They also will take into consideration the location, regulations, and any other possible factors. Examples include:
- Ensuring the new shelter is suitable for the size of the footpath.
- All permits are approved prior to installation (we can do this on behalf of the customer if necessary)
- Disconnecting any electrics prior to us removing a pre-existing shelter
Will you need to close the footpath or road to install the shelter?
This is difficult to answer as every site is different and requires a unique approach.
We are unlikely to ever have to close off a road completely but may have to set up alternative pedestrian walkways.
The amount of room we need to install the product depends on the space we are given, as we can either pre-build the shelter or build it on site. This is why a site visit is so important beforehand so we can plan in advance, allowing us to draw up an appropriate risk assessment.
Qualifications and knowledge
All of our site teams are experienced with all aspects of installation and well equipped to carry them out. All teams are managed by supervisors that are respectively qualified under the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991, with team members qualified to excavate and reinstate roads.
