Isle of Wight, Hampshire – Case Study

The brief

We have worked with this client before on various other projects. Trusting our expertise, they approached us with their plans to upgrade seven of their existing bus shelters in order to incorporate illuminated advertising panels.

The process

In the preliminary stages, we submitted several planning drawings of the proposed shelters due to the advertising panels. This involved liaising with the relevant governing bodies to ensure the design fit their rules and regulations.

After submitting these plans, we were granted planning permission. We then visited the site to assess the best way forward. Some shelters already had hard stands in place, meaning we only needed to bolt these down to the existing base.

Installation

Despite appalling wind and rain, and a couple of particularly difficult areas to dig, our team successfully installed all seven shelters within the given time frame. Our client was incredibly happy with the outcome and loved the newly implemented advertising boards.

Here’s what our customers think…

“Our Council took a long time to find a supplier that could provide a good quality shelter, and we are delighted to work with GW Shelters.  Since 2021 they have installed seven bus shelters and supplied us with spare panels to fit our existing shelters.  Although we are based in Northumberland physical distance has been no problem for site visits.  Our experience has been that GW Shelters provides the right product, a seamless installation and a good after sales service.”

“Once again, GW Shelter Solutions design, supply and install another Bus Shelter for Fenland District Council within agreed timescales and budget. Our go to company, especially when requiring glazing and maintenance parts for our older assets which still remain structurally sound and in use today; many of which have had a good coat of paint, a re-glazing to accordingly to local environment resulting in GW Shelter Solutions providing a new looking shelter with a significant reduction in cost when compared to a new installation. I cannot recommend them enough.”
